Editorial Spring/Summer 05

Hello readers,
We now have a new team for the magazine and I'd like to introduce them to you.

CAROLYN PEARE - CO-ORDINATOR
Carolyn has been a very active member of Ceramics Ireland, taught ceramics at the IADT in Dun Laoghaire, as exhibited extensively around the country and as been on the main committee for a number of years

VICKI SUTHERLAND - ADVERTISING
Vicki, a native of New Zealand, studied ceramics under Helena Brennan and set up her own studio in Dublin. She as been a very active member for many years and is also secretary to the main committee.

ALISON KAY - DISTRIBUTION
Alison as been working in clay for many years, was a teacher at the IADT in Dun Laoghaire and we are delighted to have her join the magazine committee.

MERCEDES GARVEY - LEGAL DEPOSIT DISTRIBUTION
Mercedes is a relative newcomer to clay and has been exhibiting with 'Ceramics Ireland' for the past couple of years

BILLY ECCLES - MUCKWORM
Most of you know Billy well. He is a past committee member, a demonstrator and as been master chef at many of our workshops feeding the multitude. Billy has done a residency in Japan and demonstrates regularly in Western Europe.

MICHAEL GARVEY - BOOKWORM
Michael is a keen collector of ceramics, an avid reader and has been contributing to the magazine for some time.

JIM BEHAN - WEBMASTER
Jim is no newcomer to the Ceramics Ireland team. The magazine had not been in production since the 70's when Jim, along with Bev Carbery, brought it back into production in the 90's. He is also responsible for setting up the website which has showcased Irish ceramics around the world.

YOUR PROVINCIAL REPS ARE:

ULSTER: TWY MILLER
Twy has been a member of Ceramics Ireland for many years and has her own workshop and retail unit in Belfast.

MUNSTER: ADRIAN WEISTREICH
A former business consultant, Adrian moved to Ireland a few years ago from the UK. He set up a workshop, retail unit and runs courses from his home in Kinsale, Co. Cork.

LEINSTER: MICHELLE MAHER
Michelle, a self taught ceramicist, has exhibited her work at many venues, She won the work of distinction award at Sculpture in Context 2004.

CONNAUGHT: ANNE TOWERS
Anne Towers as been an active member of Ceramics Ireland for many years and has contributed numerous articles to the magazine.

All of the above give me great support and helped enormously to produce this magazine for you. We hope you enjoy reading it. We are always on the lookout for articles of interest, so if you feel like putting pen to paper drop us a line. Don't forget to contact your reps with news and notices of events happening in your area.
